Nick Leatherwood

Chick-Fil-A West Asheville

Operator/Owner

My journey with Chick-fil-A started at Biltmore Square Mall in 1996 as a cashier. After I graduated from ENKA High School I had an opportunity to move to Sevierville, Tennessee and help open a Chick-Fil-A with my operator.

In 2000, I started working for Chick-Fil-A Inc. My new role was to help train and develop leadership teams at Chick-fil-A’s all over the United States. At the time, I had no clue that this prospect would springboard me into the next chapter of my career.

In 2004, I was given the awesome chance to become the Owner/Operator at the location that started me on this exciting journey, Chick-Fil-A at Biltmore Square Mall.

I would have the pleasure of winning two Symbol of Success awards from Chick-Fil-A, which is a highly honored award given to Owners/Operators and their teams who achieve an increase in sales from the previous year. Unfortunately, on January 24, 2014 the mall closed, which led to another exhilarating moment in my career.

On April 3, 2014, my leadership team and I opened Merrimon Avenue Chick-Fil-A. Over the next five years our store would win three Symbol of Success Awards.

On May 28, 2020, I moved back to my home community and open Chick-Fil-A West Asheville.

I cannot wait to see what the future holds as we bring new team members into the business and continue to make improvements for our customers for years to come.
